  Sensationalism causes online news sources to become saturated with negative news. School shootings, wars, criminal trials, sex scandals—these shouldn’t be topics a curious second grader should be exposed to on a daily basis. To foster a positive environment for kids, we developed an app that leverages AI’s powerful filtering ability to present the positive and constructive events of our world, usually buried beneath the negative. The app automatically summarizes news articles and refreshes its news selection daily. These summaries are generated in a way that caters to the children’s reading ability according to their age group.
